We all know that Children are the future of our nation. But a survey revealed the situation of children that large number of children and youths are engaged in antisocial activities. For the last two years the organization has been conducting skill up gradation Programmes through training Session and learning by doing . We have been conducting the Vocational training in various trade as like Cutting & tailoring, Cooking, Basic Computer skills, Beautician course. If children will have no work they will have no social responsibility, they will have not any work. At that point of time, they neither had any work to do nor any money to survive. So,they start depending on drugs or smack, petty theft, pick pocketing etc as they don’t find any other mean to channelise their energy.
This all gave to INDIAN RELIEF SOCIETY a vision that if this energy is not channeled properly then they could be misguided or influenced by some anti-social elements. Still there exist another category of street and working children who sell magazines at the traffic signals,refilled water bottles at Railway Station,work as casual labourer in small parties & functions and the list is long. IRS have been organizing programmes in the field of education, health, recreation and vocational training. Many efforts have been organized on these issues but still there is room for improvement especially in the area of Vocational Training.
Through regular and continuing group discussions on the issues related to children, IRS team felt urgent need to absorb them in various trades through vocational training as per new market demands.
