IAWS is governed by its Constitution and registered under the Registrar of Societies, New Delhi. It is voluntarily managed by an elected Executive Committee. Members include academics, researchers, students, activists, social workers, media persons and others, women and men. IAWS completed 25 years in 2007. Our activities include organizing a National Conference once in 3 years, and annual regional conferences and workshops across the country. We publish a quarterly newsletter that is available across our membership of nearly 1500 life and institutional members, as well as other individuals and institutions. In 2007 an Archive of the Association has been established at SNDT Women’s University, which documents and archives the contributions of the pioneers of women’s studies and women’s movements in India. We bring out numerous other publications following the conferences and workshops adding to the scholarship of women’s studies. The IAWS also is part of campaigns for the advancement of scholarship in women’s studies and the social movements across the country and abroad.
