Major Activities/Achievements : Golden Rural Adventure Sports Promoters GRASP is an all India NGO raised on 04 Aug 2006 .It has organized many Adventure Camps , Personality Development Camps , Health awareness camp and National Integration Camp for rural Youth . The Golden Rural Adventure Sports Promoters is being looked after by Retired defense Officers and wards of serving Army Officers . Major General S Thapliyal , SM is the Patron of this Golden Rural Adventure Sports Promoters. Their vast experience and dedication for duty helps the rural youth in motivation and also assists in talent hunting of uneducated but talented youth . Aim of the Golden Rural Adventure Sports Promoters is to uplift rural youth by creating interest in them through Adventure Sports .In Jan 2009 an National Integration camp for rural youth of east Sikkim was organized . The NGO is registered with Registrar of Society under the Society Act .It has branches in Punjab ( Roop Nagar) ,UP ( Meerut and Bilsanda ) ,Himachal ( Solan) and Delhi (West) . The NGO GRASP is registered with Income Tax Deptt for granting exemptions under sec 80 G for the donations received for its Aims and objectives .This is valid till Aug 2011 .All the activities of GRASP has been done by arranging Funds from mutual contributions from its members . If adequate funds are released by the Govt then the GRASP intends to reach out in the rural areas . The GRASP also intends to open Adventure camp Sites in the remote eco friendly environment with the help of State / Central Government . Places have already been identified . GRASP intends to reach out to remotest areas and uplift rural and backward youth with the help of Ex-servicemen by organizing various adventure , Health awareness , Information Technology based and personality development Camps . By this NGO will generate employment for both , ex-servicemen and rural youth . This will reduce the unemployment and illiteracy rate of the youth of the country .GRASP plans to hold initially two Camps for 10 days duration for strength of 100 rural youths .These youth will be screened for their hidden talent and then imparted training for getting them admitted in good institutions of the various parts of the country .Assistance of other NGOs working in this field will also be taken .To begin with annual requirement of funds and resources are as under :- 1 One Medium / heavy Vehicle fitted with four computers (In Kind) 2 Twenty Tents for accommodating 100 youths and instructors (one time) 20×5000=1,00,000 3 Two Buses for transportation of youth to two Camp sites on hiring basis for ( 2x12x2x5000=2,40,000) 2,40,000 4 Hiring of 5x Instructors for 20 days @ 500/- per day including their orientation Training (5x2x20x500=1,00,000) 1,00,000 5 Meals for 100 pers for two camps of 10 days each and 5 instructors for 40 days @rate of Rs 100/-per day per person 100x{(100x2x10)+(5x2x20)}=100×2200= 2,20,000 6 Training Equipment and miscellaneous expenditure 3,40,000 Total Rs 10,00,000/- Total Funds required are Rs Ten Lakhs plus one medium / heavy vehicle fitted with four computers.
