Major Activities/Achievements of Foundation for MSME Clusters : Development of Cluster based Methodologies for different thematic areas including poverty alleviation, innovation, business responsibility etc.

  • Supported first in conceptualization and then assisted 19 Clusters through 7 institutions for cluster development related initiatives
  • Conceptualized the entire scheme and then Supported SFURTI Clusters through KVIC/ Coir Board T
  • Training provided CDAs, Business Management Organizations (BMOs),policy makers nationally and internationally  Up-scaled energy efficiency aspects across 100 foundry units leading to 5000 tonnes of coke savings p.a.
  • First Indian organization to get EU Switch Asia project through a bidding process & Created the first online Cluster Observatory, an online portal for information related to Indian MSME Clusters  Expanded reach to 10 countries where tried out options to work in agri-clusters in Montenegro, South Africa, Cambodia. It helped develop a policy for South Africa & Montenegro. It supported Planning Commission, Min. of Food Processing to help draft their 5 year frameworks (2012-17). It has several research studies recently undertaken with UNDP, IIAMR, Mapping of energy situation among MSME clusters, Banking study and many more are coming up.
