Founded in 1990, Delhi Telugu Academy aims to preserve and propagate Telugu Culture in Delhi in particular and Indian Culture in general. It provides recreational activities for the ever growing Telugu community in Delhi. It nurtures the Telugu spirit, its distinct culture and identity of the people of Andhra Pradesh. It strives to unite all Telugus of the world. By organizing programmers in Hyderabad, it acts as a cultural bridge between the capitals of the Center and the State.

Delhi Telugu Academy organizes cultural events – contemporary in thought and classical in content. It celebrates important festivals. It helps Music/Dance/Drama groups and arranges progreammes tapping local talent while bringing eminent artists from outside. It maintains close relationship with other cultural organizations in India and abroad through cultural exchange and social service. It conducts seminars on education, science and technology, business and economic affairs. It gives scholarships to the poor; holds free health check up and blood donation camps; conducts music, essay writing and drawing competitions for school children; screens movies twice a month besides holding Annual Film Festivals; arranges picnics and social get-together and sponsors A.P. Formation Day Celebratins.

Delhi Telugu Academy bestows National Awards to accomplished creative personalities engaged in the multidimensional disciplines pertaining to social service, fine arts and culture. its VISHAL BHARATI AWARDS have attracted global attention with NRIs from UK, USA, Austrialia etc., receiveing them in person.

Delhi Telugu Academy today has become by itself symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Telugus. The Government of Andhra Pradesh recognized the Academy as the best cultural organization outside the State for fostering the spirit of unity.
