Chitra Centre for Human Rights Initiative Training and Research Association is leading human rights network of the grassroots NGOs, Civil Societies Organization, Social activists, Progressive media person, Academicians and Lawyers in India. Chitra Centre for Human Rights Initiative Training and Research Association is dedicated to enhancing access to social justice for the poor and marginalized sections of society. Legal aid, legal literacy, advocacy, investigation into human rights abuse and human rights campaigns are done for and on behalf of slum dwellers, tribal’s, dalits, unorganized workers, women, children, HIV+ people, disabled persons and minority community. Using the law, education and publication to create awareness and fight against human rights violations, the focus remains on sustaining a network for immediate, effective and collective action from village to national levels. Activities: CHITRA is dedicated to the protection of the fundamental rights of the poor and to increase access to basic resources for marginalized communities. It uses the legal system to struggle against discrimination through campaign. It is also works towards Economic Social Cultural Rights (ESCR) increased awareness of the peoples. Dialogues with the community, local traditional leaders, as well as government and community based organizations, awareness of their rights and responsibilities, development and management plans for their environment including education and resource generation are actively encourage and facilitate. In India have multiplicity of the socio-economic problems and contestation of resources within the democratic process, a participatory, transparent and accountable budget/policy/legal making process is of great significance. To study of public law/policies and priorities driving budgets; trends analysis of implementations; and socio-economic indicators of the focus of our research. CHITRA is engaged in one or more of the following activities: • Counseling/Legal Aid/Litigation • Survey • Research • Analysis • Training • Advocacy • Campaigning • Networking • Publication CHITRA has focused on access to justice. This requires teaching not only the letter of the law and the basic rights of citizens but also how the justice system can be practically accessed in order to bring immediate benefits to millions of Indians who are disadvantaged by illiteracy and poverty to go to courts directly. Economic growth is undoubtedly one basic condition required to reduce poverty. While focusing on the inputs to permanently increase productive employment also initiated a more broad based growth process. Community participation helps ensure that local and external stakeholder supports all development work within that community.
