Details of Achievements :

Child Survival India has an integrated community development approach with health education and gender as its major focus areas. Organisation is working on Primary Health Care maternal and child health HIV prevention and care women empowerment Legal literacy and formation of Mahila Panchayats Adolescent life skill education and vocational training and non formal education for street & working children. Child survival India has taken up a number of programs addressing the entire continuum of the HIV/AIDS problem from HIV prevention to community based care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS to palliative care for full blown AIDS. Over the years organization has partnered with various national and international agencies and other organizations like UNFPA CEDPA India HIV/ AIDS Alliance GATES Foundation and National Foundation of India etc. We are currently receiving support from state as well as central government. Delhi State AIDS Control society Department of women and child development Directorate of family Welfare Ministry of Health & family Welfare and Directorate of Education are supporting our programs. Transfer of Skills to Communities is one of the key strategies in Child Survival India s sustainability plan.The organization has actively worked on this issue and has tried to empower key populations of various programs to take the program activities forward. We have mobilized 1. A cadre of 27 key population facilitators have been trained in IPC skills and are currently conducting outreach with trucking population on STI and HIV prevention issues 2.140 community women from Delhi and Haryana have been trained as mahila Panchayat members who provide legal counseling and help in redressal of cases of women facing domestic violence and marital discord 3.17 peer educators from the High risk behavior group of female sex workers have been incapacitated in peer outreach . 4.24 peer leaders have been trained to work with adolescent girls & boys Male and female HIV infected individuals vulnerable women and men in reproductive age group on sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS issues. 5.10 Persons Living with HIV/AIDS who have been associated with NGO for about 4 to 5 yrs have been trained to conduct positive speaking sessions in the general community so as to create awareness on HIV/AIDS reduce associated stigma and discrimination and to motivate people to go in for HIV testing.
