Details of Achievements :

Major Activities/Achievements of Association for Social and Environmental Research : Research Activities Association for Social and Environmental Research (ASER) is engaged in range of activities in order to develop, promote and disseminate knowledge about the role of marginalized groups especially of women in society, economic trends and environmental issues. Research activities of Association for Social and Environmental Research (ASER) include – integrated multi-pronged approach focusing on both forward and backward linkages in the processes prevailing in the environment surrounding the women; strategies for increasing agricultural productivity together with safeguarding the environment with focus on using available nutrient resources more efficiently, effectively, and sustainably; conducting on-site field trials on farmers fields on organic cultivation of various crops using bio-fertilizers like mycorrhizal fungi; devising strategies that incorporate both organic and inorganic plant nutrients to attain higher crop productivity, prevent soil degradation; projects on phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soils and International Rice Genome Sequencing Project. Seminars/Workshops/Training Camps Association for Social and Environmental Research (ASER) have contributed to the society by undertaking action steps like plantations, sensitizing people in rural areas by organizing seminars and workshops and also attending number such seminars and training camps. The details of some of these ventures include organization of First Yamuna Conservation Drawing Competition in collaboration with other NGOs – Human Vision Society, Nirmal Yamuna and Khazan Singh Memorial Trust; participation in a Seminars on the topics such as Health, Education and Social Causes; Participation of Women in Politics; Women and Development; in the National Consultation on Children in the 11th Plan organized by the Institute of Human Development on behalf of Planning Commission and UNICEF; and participated and presented a paper in International Conference on MICROBIAL DIVERSITY: Current Perspectives and Potential Applications. In furtherance of its central objectives, ASER has resorted from the very beginning the networking with government organs working at sub district levels, civil society organizations and people at large especially in rural areas. ASER has adopted one Social Education Centre of NDMC at Aliganj, Near Lodhi Road New Delhi to provide counseling, guidance and assistance to children at the Centre as well as the women coming to the Centre for acquiring vocational skills who hails from weaker section of the society. President, ASER and other Members visit the Center from time to time and render assistance in various forms like copies, stationary items to the children and counseling and guidance to the women at the centre receiving training and vocational skills in stitching, embroidery and crafting etc. Half Yearly Journal To disseminate the research work undertaken by life Members and also other researchers working towards the furtherance of the objectives of ASER, a Bi-annual Journal titled, Indian Journal of Social Perspectives is being by ASER after getting it duly registered with RNI, New Delhi and obtaining ISSN registration.
