Cooperative Outreach of India is non profit, non-governmental organization established in 1993 with a desire to provide service to the people who have never had opportunity to live their lives with dignity. It started its work with the most disadvantaged members of the Indian population which comprises the largest portion living in poverty. COI is registered under trust act.1171 at Delhi and has Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, under the ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Its head office in Delhi with many field offices in Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Uttarakhand etc. COI is working on various issues such as primary education, income generating programs, health and sanitaiton, natural resource management programs etc. Recently it was introduced to Bhagidari program of Delhi Government to implement Sarva Sikhsha Abhyan (Education for All). It has partnership with Government organizations as well as international organizations. COI has been working with Heifer International since 2002. It has implemented Pashmina Goat Project in the worlds heighest Altitude area in Ladakh in North India. This Project helped 100 families with 300 Pashmina Goats. Passing on Gifts is still going on from one village to other. Orissa COI helped 3500 families with livestock and agriculture development with the local partners thus enabling them to be self reliant. Another livelihood project is implemented in Uttara khand area helping 350 families with livestock and training. Disaster management is one of the key elements that COI has been specializing in the past helping people in times of natural and man made disasters. We are assisting children who have never gone to school or school outs. There are over 1000 children who are helped through the Formal and non formal education programs.Women empowerment is one of the key program that has been helped many thousand women through self help groups, special skill trainings, animation programs and social awareness.We are presently implementing Livelihood Program Through small livestock in the state.
