Avant Garde Academy is a cultural registered society founded in Delhi in 1997. The main founders are Mr.Pradeep Vernekar and Mrs.Susheela Vernekar,both well known in contemporary Indian theatre.Trained at prestigious National School of Drama and Asian Institute,New Delhi.Pradeep also had his training at FTII, Pune. Avant Garde Academy has always contributed significantly towards modern theatre with idealism and spirit of nationalism.AGA is an excellent bridge between tradition and modernity. PRODUCTIONS, Hayawadana in Hindi written by Girish Karnad,a highly experimental classic based on Indian folklore.Badkon ka Rahasyagan,a rare play written by revolutionary Marathi poet B S Mardhekar. Helen Keller ki amar kahani, an illustrious play on Helen Kellers life.Charu Balkrishna Dalvi,written by Vijay Tendulkar,about turmoil and mental agony of a working girl. Avant Garde Academy has organized many workshops for adults and children in New Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Goa. Avant Garde Academyhas done lot of street theatre in Delhi on social issues and health.Terrace Theatre Activity,AGA also attempted to do Terrace activities to benefit residents conducting plays and literary meets. AGA has objetives to produce significant plays exhibiting good Indian theatre thus projecting idea of Nationalism and Idealism.
