Details of Achievements :

Anugraha is working for marginalized & rural communities, since year 2000, it has covered issues from Action research studies to Women empowerment & Child care while focusing on Age care initiatives. A leading collaborative partner with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, GOI, Anugraha has organised several National seminars, training programs & Consultations. Training on “Management of Dementia” were organized in Uttarakhand & Delhi for NGOs, medical colleges, academic insts., psychologists and care givers. Community Training in Computers for Senior Citizens organized in Delhi, Dehradun & Rajasthan. Sensitization programmes on Promoting Micro Credit among Elderly, with NISD, in Dist. U.S. Nagar, Uttarakhand in 2008. Sensitization Programmes on Drug abuse Prevention in Dehradun & Rudrapur, Uttarakhand,in 2008. Anugraha organized a Mega Cultural Event “Celebrating Graceful Ageing” in October 2008 on the occasion of International Day for Older Persons at Delhi covering 800 senior citizens. The evening showcased performances by three Padmabhushan artists, aged 70 yrs and above. In August 2008, Anugraha in collaboration with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, GoI. organized a National Consultative Meet on “Safeguarding Rights of the Elderly in India” in context of the “Maintenance and Welfare of parents & senior citizen Act 2007”, at Delhi. Around 350 persons including NGOs, Judicial & police officers, State Govt. officials, State Human Rights Commissions of different states of India participated. Provided medical screening, MMU, medicines to over 15000 patients, 6000 cataract surgeries through Multi speciality Medical camps. Participation and presentation made in about two -dozen National and International forums. Pioneered celebration of International day of older persons with Govt. of India. Signed MOU with Senior Citizens Council, Republic of Mauritius. Anugraha implemented extensive initiatives on Slum health care & Environment improvement programme, Bal Shiksha, Bal Arogya, Corporate Social Responsibility programs, AIDS Control & Awareness along with a Project on Development & Empowerment of Adolescents Focus on Economically & Socially backward sections. It collaborated with Ministry of women & child development for Skill development, awareness generation and training of 1000 BPL backward class women in U.P. Anugraha has published two books titled “Active Ageing in the New Millennium” & “ Coping with Ageing : Emerging issues & Strategies in India & South Asia”. As member of State Council for older persons, Govt. of Delhi NCT, Anugraha formulated the “State Policy on older persons”. In its Day Care & Recreation Center, supported by Govt. of Delhi NCT Delhi, Anugraha is running e-learning and computer center, library, counselling, spiritual & social support programs for senior citizens. Anugraha is a zonal chairperson of Indian society for Universities of Third age(U3A) and has forged effective partnerships with Department of social welfare, Govt. of Delhi, Delhi Police, Educational institutions- Dept. of Psychology MKPG College Dehradun, Uttarakhand & G.B.Pant university of agri. & Tech, Pantnagar, Corporate bodies- SRS Society for seniors, Haryana & ONGC, NTPC, OIL, SCOPE, Delhi, UN Agencies- UNFPA, UNIC. A renowned agency on age care it has worked with International Collaborators like UNESCAP, FAO, Southern Cross Care, Australia & International Federation on Ageing, Canada. Anugraha participated and gave a presentation in international Esangathan conference in Mumbai in April , on “ The impact of Information & Communication Technology on ageing workforce” organised by Tech Mahindra group and European Union. Anugraha is chairing a consortium of NGOs based in different district of U.P., Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana,& Rajasthan. It provides input in the field of research, documentation, survey, and training of care givers to these NGOs.
