Major Activities/Achievements : ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACTIVITIES The need to form local level committees to execute programmes in India. PROGRAMMES / ACTIVITIES Issue based training programmes: 1 Regional Level (i)Land issue (ii)Issue related to atrocities (iii)Issue related to community formation and discrimination. (iv)Socio-economic development and upliftment programmes. 2 State Programme The regional level programme repeted at the state level. 3 Local level programme The local level programme primarily focused on: (i)Critical awareness through education. (ii)Building solidarity through common action programmes. (iii)Enhancing membership in order to ensure greater participation. (iv)Income generation programme for women and youths. (v)Community Capacity Enhancement Awareness Oriented Workshops, The overall objective of this programme is to organize and facilitate workshops related to solidarity to the Dalit leaders, women and youths .The subjects they are: (a)Legal and Civil Rights (including women rights) (b)Participatory Community Development. (c)Management Peoples participatory Planning. (d)Income and employment generation. (e)Youth and Development The objective of the programme is to encourage Youth involved in cultural activities and games so that the youth could effectively engage in solidarity the making and develop his/her own expression .The cultural activities will help to promote values of cooperation plurality and services to the community. The activities are: (a)Youth Camps (b)Multi-faith and Multi-cultural activities. (vii)Women Empowerment (WE) The objective of WE is to provide opportunity for Dalit women to their own issues and concerns so that they will be able to take better care of their day- to- day engagements in life and family affairs, women also need to address the issue of patriarchal power relations in a caste class dominated society. The activities are: (a)Weekly meetings and workshops (b)Seminar on Women issues (viii)Income and Employment Generation The objective of the programme is to provide income and employment build generating skills in the areas such as Tailoring, handicrafts etc.The programme is also to the management capacity of the people to run their financial affairs. The activities are: (a)Practical Skills training (b)Financial Management training (c)Entrepreneurship Development training ACHIEVEMENTS 1 The governing communities for women and youths Organized democratically in Delhi ,Punjab ,Bihar ,Uttar Pradesh ,Jharkhand , Madhya Pradesh , Chattishgarh ,Maharashtra ,Gujarat ,Haryana , Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. 2 It is good sign that the participation of the women and youths in the community development process and they are becoming conscious of their rights .This can be seen in Delhi ,Uttar Pradesh ,Bihar ,Jharkhand ,Chattishgarh ,Haryana and Punjab. 3 During last ten years Dalit Solidarity Peoples organized many Youth camps in various parts of India. 4 For Internationalization of Dalit issue our round table conferences organized two in India (Delhi and Chennai) and two in abroad (Durban and Stuttgart). 5 Dalit Solidarity Peoples organized three General Convention and so many National Consultations on various issues like Globalization and privatization. 6 Men and women took equal part in the process of the making of solidarity at Local level. 7 Awareness on education was raised in the local Dalits communities. 8 Awareness building activities also took place regarding civil and Dalit Human rights. 9 Training was imparted to people for income generating activities as well.
