Major Activities/Achievements of Consortium for Trade and Development : To conduct rigorous policy research and analysis on trade and development on South Asia with a view to concrete policy insights. To empower South Asian civil society organisations (CSOs) through capacity building on critical trade and development issues. To offer a common advocacy ground for various stakeholders for influencing national governments across south Asia, as also global and Intergovernmental Institutions. To undertake policy-oriented research on trade and development. To organise seminars and interactive communications platforms for sharing knowledge and advocating on key trade policy issues. To engage with policy makers to advocate and lobby for change at the national, regional and global level. Publish trade and development report for south Asia as well a quarterly magazine. Provide comprehensive website on South Asian trade and development issues. working on core programmes namely Agriculture and Trade, Public Health, Human Development, Trade and Climate Change and Trade & Finance. Also offers consulting and advisory services on issues of expertise across South Asia and globally. It focuses on building capacity of grassroots stakeholders, the legal fraternity and regional governments, through activities such as the Summer School and Training Course on Trade and Development research. Centad is a member of the Consultative Group on Climate Change of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India, a member of the National Biodiversity Authority on Normally traded goods; a member of the National Working Group on Patent Laws. Holding an observer status in UNCTAD and UNFCCC and member of CAN International.
