Major Activities/Achievements : In-service Education is a continuing necessity for any educational organization that wishes to keep abreast with other successful institutions. It is a remarkable indication of futuristic thinking and foresight by DAV College Managing Committee to have a department dedicated to Human Resource Development (HRD) need of its numerous institutions. DAV Institute of In-service Education & Research, DAV College Managing Committee, was established in 1999 to provide professional support for the regular in-service orientation and training of the DAV Principals and Teachers. Functioning in the decentralized mode, the department’s main objective is to sensitize and empower the grass-root DAV institutions with skills and competencies to enable them to proactively plan their own growth and development. More than 45,000 DAV Educators across all the states of India have access to our regular orientation and training services. The benefits they derive are passed on in the form of improved education to millions of students studying in DAV Schools. OBJECTIVES Macro Level • To make In-service education an on going process and available to the entire DAV workforce. • To sensitize the DAV Educators to the need for their regular professional development. • To equip CRCs with competencies to design cost effective, quality teacher training. • To promote an attitude for educational research among DAV Educators. Micro Level • To guide teachers in assessing and meeting the learning needs of students. • To sensitize the teachers to the need for integrating Information Communication Technology (ICT) in education. • To foster sharing and increased understanding of resources, ideas, methods, approaches and information among the educators. • To promote educators to undertake action research and use it to develop effective teaching aids and strategies. OUR ACHIEVEMENTS Our achievement is our ability to immediately respond to the need of our DAV Schools. Over the years we have kept a watchful eye on the developments in School Educations and the challenges faced by the educators to provide quality education to the learners.
