Details of Achievements :

Centre for Applied Sociology and its members have consistently been engaged in high-end research, publication and advocacy in areas of applied sociology, gender issues, elderly and communication & media. Centre for Applied Sociology (CASOC) is a group of social scientists and development experts with vast experience in social research, community work, constructive intervention, networking, advocacy and communication.  Centre for Applied Sociology has emerged in a socio political milieu, which is acquiring new dimensions. The new age India is witnessing economic liberalization, political decentralization, social empowerment and globalization. Therefore there is a need of looking at things with a fresh approach. It has become imperative to use applied sociology in promoting sustainable development.

Contribution towards sustainable development is the primary aim of establishing CASOC. It will work towards the challenges of poverty and social justice, non-violent conflict resolution, unemployment, education, population, health and environment. It specially emphasize towards the issues affecting poor, women, children, youth, weaker sections and marginal groups and regions. CASOC undertakes studies in technologies such as Internet, new media and mobile telephony and their impact on culture and society. CASOC is committed for contribution in the making of a humane society based on justice and egalitarian values. It undertakes analytical and evaluation studies, operation and action research and organize training programs.
